Me
“Better than an elk on stilts. Carrying Beer.” (Commentator unknown)
First Reviews Editor of Britain’s No1 weekly computer magazine, Micro Mart, I’m a writer, poet, cultural glutton and graduate of the University of Wales in Creative Writing and English Literature.
Born and bred in Dartford, Kent, when I was younger I dreamt I had some urgent story to tell people. Some message I had to convey. I’ve no idea what this was, nor where the idea came from, but it manifested itself in an abundant energy typical of youth, an unstoppable (mouth and) passion for writing, and a desire to always write and explore communication through words. I love various things; music, books, reading, philosophy among them, and I hate alot less. My writings are mostly be found here, in Micro Mart and on the website Den of Geek. Previously I have contributed to Computer Shopper and Custom PC also.
If, on the off-chance you would like to get in touch with me – the Contact page has a rather handy form which will send your message direct to my email.
The Site
Kevin Pocock.com was born out of creative frustration. You see, the “Creative Industries” are a hard nut to crack, and having graduated, I tried my best without much success. So, on April 1st 2006, I logged onto the internet, contacted an associate across the pond in Canada and created my own site. The rest is what you see here.
I’d been thinking about the idea for a while, with the basic concept of rather unashamedly showcasing my writing to a larger audience. I am, to all intents and purposes a writer, sometime poet, wannabe author (and apparent egotist). I’m not an underground, literary e-anarchist or anything of the kind. I try to be an innovator and dynamic communicator with words and I work as hard as I can to push my writing, while developing style(s) hopefully to be appreciated by others.
But anyway, less about me. I hope you enjoy your time here, however brief, and take the time to relax a little.
Cheers, Kev
LEGAL THINGS: It goes without writing but anyway – the opinions aired on this site, are none other than that of the author, and do not necessarily reflect those of any employers or associates, past, present or future. Although we can’t be sure of the last one…yet.
